Flea Market Finds.

Here's my flea market finds from last Sunday! I've been so busy I almost forgot to post about them. All pyrex and the orange bowl in my new favorite bowl! Looove!

Plus we got Jay a "new" super Nintendo because his had stopped working. Turns out it was just the adapter(?) that had gone out so he just replaced the old adapter with this newer one. He was so happy that he got his original Nintendo that he got for Christmas when he was a little kid to start working again!

Hot Lunch.

I bought this shirt yesterday and I realized that I will buy any shirt that has food on it. lol.

Flashback Friday.

Jay and I camping. This is from the summer of 2003 right after Jay graduated from high school. He went through this whole "I'll show them!" phase, and grew his hair out and got his lip pierced. Yeah, he was a rebel.

Banana Bread!!

I am not a banana person. I don't know why, I just never really have been. But I do looove banana bread. I made this bread and then ate about half of it while watching the first season of True Blood.

Banana Bread
adapted from allrecipes.com

  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1/3 cup buttermilk
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 3 very ripe bananas, mashed
  • 1 1/2 cups white sugar
  • 1/2 tsp nutmeg
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts
Preheat oven to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C). Spray one 9x5 inch loaf pan with non-stick spray coating.
Blend together the eggs, buttermilk, vanilla, oil and bananas.
In a separate bowl, stir together the sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, flour, baking soda and salt. Add to banana mixture and stir in walnuts. Mix well.
Pour into prepared loaf pan and bake 1 hour and 20 minutes or until a cake tester inserted in the center comes out clean.

While it was baking I combined butter and cinnamon and as soon as it came out of the oven I spread the cinnamon butter on it and made it extra tasty!
